The shifter mechanism and how it attaches to the transmission are different. 
You can either get Imperial Services to convert your shifter to work 
properly with the later automatic, or you can replace the factory shifter 
with a B&M cable shifter and fit it in the original console (haven't done 
it, but I've seen the end results).
