About a year or so ago, I think it was in Hot Rod their was a story about a guy and his Valiant with an aluminum slant six and in the story the writer claimed that their were only a hand full, maybe six of them were ever built. He went into this story about how he knew this high level retired employee from R&D that he could not divulge his ID for fear of legal action. The story stated that Chrysler was testing the possibility of aluminum engines, the test failed so they ordered them all destroyed and this high level operative smuggled a couple of them out and they were stowed away in hiding for years in his garage, and he was able to talk the operative out of them to put in his Valiant. Gosh could this mean their were Two moles in the R&D department?! Maybe we need to send CNN to Washington State and find out What Does He Know and When Did He Know It! (; Probably his reasoning behind the price if he read the same article. Years ago I had a 62 Valiant with one in in it, I guess I need to change my lamenting priority's on the one that got away. ): Thinking about it that leaves only two of the ALU 225s that were destroyed. I bow to you Mr. Wakeman, you're right. A 20k slant 6 is much better that a 22k 4-door Satellite for a laugh!
