Richard,

It's not your pan gasket!  Take a good look at the throttle pressure seal. 
The fluid will leak from the seal and down along the pan gasket leaving you
to think it's the pan gasket.  If it was the pan gasket it would leak all
the time.  The seal leaks when the converter drains down, raising the fluid
level in the pan up to the seal, thus a leak when it sits for a while.

rich i'm curious if you used the rubber or cork trans pan gasket. someone
told me to avoid the rubber as there is a higher rate of failure. apparently
the cork ones rarely leak. my rubber one leaks if i dont drive the car for a
few weeks but stops once its driven. richard [oz]
