That's what I thought, but something tells me that parts books see it differently. Granted it's been many, many years since I did 8.75 axle seals, but I'm looking @ Napa's web site, and the one they list as the OUTER looks correct for the seal that's inboard of the bearing (gets set in the housing). The one they are calling inner is super thin. I seem to remember always thinking it's strange they call this seal the outer seal since this is the inner most seal in the axle. -- Bill M 65 Coronet 500 'vert http://1962to1965mopar.ornocar.com/mmo62008.html On Tue, Apr 28, 2009 at 2:17 PM, Steve Chervinsky <63hemipolara@xxxxxxxxx> wrote: > > You answered your own question, inboard of the wheel bearing... inner, > outside of the wheel bearing... outer, always in relation to the > carrier. > > On Tue, Apr 28, 2009 at 1:15 PM, Bill <Y1TopBanana73@xxxxxxxxx> wrote: >> Are the axle seals that are inboard of the wheel bearings considered >> the outer or inner seal?
