When I was in college a friend of mine had a 55 Chevy stick 6 that he had inherited from his Dad and he did just that with the Kerosene as his Dad has always done since it was new. He'd let it idle for about 5 minutes and then drop the oil and change it. He beat the crap out of that poor Chevy 6 and it never died. Since it was the real cheap model 55 Chevy with rubber mats instead or carpeting he used to wash out the inside with a hose when he changed the oil too. LOL Probably what Neal's friend should have done was let it idle for a few minutes with the MMO and then drop the oil and filter and change it again. And yes I have heard that MMO is basically tranny fluid.

Same here but was told ATF as it was high in detergents and still lubricated the engine! It did clean a lot of crap out when drained. I have wondered if MMO was not just ATF in reality!! Speaking of clean engines, when I was a teenager an old timer lectured me on changing oil. In his heyday, cars did not have oil filters, so every time he changed oil he would pour one quart of kerosene in the engine and idle it for a few minutes, then drain it.
