That's probably exactly what happened Neal. How long had this car been sitting? Had a similar problem with a slant 6 that had been sitting for a few years and I didn't even use the Marvel Mystery oil. Fresh detergent oil was enough to loosen up the sludge and I spun number 1 bearing.Btw I always used to use Fram filters but after reading an oil filter test and report I'll never use them again. Turns out they're one of the worst filters on the market. I was having a problem with the 440 in my 63 Fury. Sometimes when I'd start it the oil pressure was slow coming up and the lifters would clack. I took off the oil filter and it was not only cold, it only had a little oil in it.
