I think your choke is staying open all the time.I've had just the opposite problems with the Stromberg on my 64 poly the endof last summer, I had to open it to start it.I hung a small pair of needle nose vice grips on the choke linkage to weightit down to hold it open or she smokes like crazy and bogs when cold. I haven't taken her out of storage yet to see what the problem is or if it still is a problem. yet. I wish there was a carburetor 101 course online I could take. Tom beautiful car btw! Haven't started the car this morning Here a picture before I do anything, the car is stone cold. http://www.frappr.com/?a=viewphoto&id=5591207&pid=10952245 Here's a picture after pushing down the gas pedal and releasing (no key, no attempt to crank) http://www.frappr.com/?a=viewphoto&id=5591207&pid=10952246 It does close... good news? 62pluckedchicken@xxxxxxxxx wrote:will do.. Thanks BTW the car does idle correctly.. when first started a fast idle, and after about five minutes or when the temp gauge is a quarter up, I tap on the gas and the idle slows Don Dulmage wrote: >> So tommorow when its cold open the hood. remove the air cleaner. > without> > > touching enything. go inside the car and push the preadl to the floor > and > release it.
