I think the Pertronix electronic points are better than sliced bread. Have used them in all types of vehicles and u can tell the difference leaving your driveway before u get straighten up and hit it. No problem to change.( less than a six pack) Get them locally at a parts house and save shipping.

I didn't know whether this would help with my cold-starting problem (if not started every day, it is like it sat for months), but I was thinking of converting from points to electronic ignition. Pertronix write ups say even an idiot (like me) can do this, but I'm confused about the kits I have a '62 Newport 361 2bbl, the kits availible from YearOne are 1. Pertronix Ignitor electronic ignition fits 1962-1973 Mopar V8 models (except 440 models with the distributor # IBS4014, IBP4002Z, or any car with a single or dual-point Prestolite distributor). 2.Pertronix Ignitor electronic ignitions fits 1959-1971 Mopar B and RB V8 models with Prestolite dual-point ignition, vacuum advance, with or without tachometer drive. I have no idea what "Mopar B" means (b-bodies???) or can see a part number on my distributor.. which one is correct for my car?... and can an idiot (me) do this? ----Please address private mail -- mail of interest to only one person -- directly to that person.
