I been told this about rusting. What I am planning on wraping is the exhaust pipe only, below the stock manifold, I have no headers. I want to wrap just past the fire wall to the h pipe. Trying to reduce the eng compartment heat. Think it will rust that fast? If it lasts a few years we can address the issue again.

Heat wrap historically seals moisture or condensation between the header and wrapping = rust. Ceramic coated.headers is an alternative. Or shield the part you want to protect from heat instead. Thanks, Gary H. -----Original Message-----I used the wrap on the headers for my race car about twenty years ago. They rusted so badly that I had to replace them within a year. Just passing on my experience.'65 Coronet 500 stroker -----Original Message-----What is the best kind of wrap?. Going to wrap my pipes from the manifold back tothe H pipe. Ollie----Please address private mail -- mail of interest to only one person -- directly to that person.
