Re: Suspension Height,control arm bushing question




Don't mean to hijack a thread, but..I have a question that sort of relates to this.

On upper and lower control arm bushings,? does the inner sleeve pivot in the rubber or?
does the sleeve remain attached to the rubber and the rubber distort during the front
suspension movement.??If its rubber distorting, then why would poly bushings squeak?

Ollie,

You may not like the procedure however Mother Mopar's way is probably 
the best way to go setting ride height.  The purpose of Mother Mopar's 
way is to set the tension on each torsion bar the same.  Nothing wrong 
with measuring from other locations however body panels are not all 
exactly the same and typically need to be shimmed to fit.

You have the new suspension parts working against you at the moment.  
These new parts add friction to the car movement of the car up and down.

Nothing wrong with a short ride over some moderate bumps to help free 
things up.  It is also necessary to bounce the car a number of times 
between adjustments.  You may find that once you have it alighned and 
put some miles on it you may want to go back and check ride height 
again.

Sounds like you are doing great - keep up the good work.
