I had a brand new 1969 Swinger 340 4-speed. I ordered it from the factory. In January of 1971, I got married, got out of the Army, and went back to school (UC) all in the space of 2 weeks. As a newly married college student trying to make it on the GI Bill, I just couldn't afford the Dart anymore (or so I thought....) So I traded it in on a 1971 Datsun 1200!.. Now have to admit, the Datsun was a great car. Kept it over 20 years, but I missed my Dart...hence now having a 1970 Dart Swinger 340 4-speed to go with my '65 Bel Wagon.

In the spring of 1969 I traded in my 68 Dart GTS 340 on a 69 Road Runner convertible but that's not the sad part of the story. In the fall of 1970 I traded in the Road Runner on a 71 6 cylinder Gremlin because gas was up to 38 cents a gallon. However by the summer of 1971 I came to my sences and got divorced, left the Gremlin with the ex and bought a 71 Challenger convertible with a 340.Dan
