It was funny..some guys would put such long shackles on that the shocks were fully extended and de- arched the springs....................MO........sw iowa ----- Original Message ----- From: "george smith" <bt6t4@xxxxxxxxx>

Those extended shackles seemed to destroy the arch of springs didn't they? Saw many cars back in the day with them though.

I used "leaf spring helpers" ages ago (inexperienced 16yr.
old) and they did not last/keep the rear spring height up,
they looked as bad a extended shackles, and they did not
improve the ride. It is best to wait to repair the
springs properly - new srpings or re-arc the existing
leafs...

The choice is between bush-league kid-stuff that wastes
your money or patience till the money is available.

never used them. "In The Day" I used air shocks on my 68 RR,
but on this 64 I had the springs rearched. If I remember
cost me about $200, car sits level (no that I corrected my
front end uh-oh) I have a?new set of springs that goover
your shocks, and a new set of air shocks for this B body if
your interested, But I would recomend you get the
speingsfixed or replace them rather than just adding a leaf
to the spring pack.?
