It wasn't as bad as it sounded like it was going to be. I pulled the driver's side first and got what I expected. When I pulled the passenger side, the drum came off without the hub. At first I thought it was different from the other side, but it looks like they're the same - only the flange with the studs came apart from the drum and stayed with the hub on the axle. How could this happen, you ask? I used a gear puller that grabbed behind the edges of the drums - not the proper universal puller that pulls on the studs (that I don't have). There doesn't appear to be any damage, but the stud hole face of the drum is a little bit bent. I don't know if that was from me or some other previous operation. It doesn't look serious to me - nothing looks broken. I don't even know how those parts stay together - there are no welds or anything that indicates they shouldn't come apart. Do you guys think I have a problem here - or will I be able to just slap it all back together and be on my merry way with no worries? I also noticed some end play in the right side axle that the left side doesn't have. Does that sound normal? Thanks in advance. Dave C.
