Re: Scam alert

He responded to an ad I placed for 62 Dodge station wagon parts, I just had
a feeling it wasn't right. Thanks Steve, you have done the group a good
service,
Joey

Subject: Scam alert

I had a person named Gary Buchannan offer to sell me the much needed
62-65 B body big block clutch fork that I had posted in our website
swapmeet section I answered his email to me, that yes I would still be
needing one and requested pictures. I recieved an excuse that he could not
get them to post, so I asked for a description as to overall length and
some distinctive features. I was then told that it was in the warehouse
and to send a Western Union or money gram and they would send it right out
to me. This was an UK address -----Now, I have gotten quite comfortable
with trusting the folks on the mailing list, but hmmmmm- I smell a RAT!
About 11:00 last night , right after I sent him my last e-mail, I get a
phone call from him" oh sir, I assure you we have the part you need and
you can trust me". I don't want to type-cast, but that lilly white name-
Gary B. had such a distinctive Middle East accent ( and I don't mean USA )
I think maybe-- SCAM!!! To bad we have to sleep with one eye open in our
own nest......................MO..........sw iowa

Please address private mail -- mail of interest to only one person -- directly to that person. I.e., send parts/car transactions and negotiations as well as other personal messages only to the intended recipient, not to the Clubhouse public address. This practice will protect your privacy, reduce the total volume of mail and fine tune the content signal to Mopar topic. Thanks!
