I did a two tone paint job on my door panels in my 62 Dodge Dart 440
wagon.
I used Lt. Blue & Dk. Blue SEM paint over red door panels with out a
problem.
be sure to get the SEM Vinyl Prep too, it softens up the surface for
better adhesion.
My 62 Dodge door panels came with 2 chrome strips on them already?
maybe this was
for the higher trim level 440's and Polaras only? now I am not sure
if the 330
interior has the chrome strips or not? and Plymouth cars I am not
sure of ?
If your cars are 4 doors or 4 door hard tops?
I have some extra door panels that are restorable, if your interested.
they are not Plymouth but they should fit all the same, I think
that's what they
did in Canada, put the Dodge trim in their Plymouths.
otherwise your ideas sound great, so go for it.

go to flexchrome.com.. I bought the sample pack, if you live in the
omaha area stop by and take a look... a wide variety of mouldings, not
all chrome

I was thinking maybe some carpet along the bottom to hide it, like
the
earlier cars had. I'd be interested in seeing pics of your idea, too.
Where can you get the flexchrome? I found 2 companies to make the
doorpanels...$800 and $1000 and both are 6-8 months behind!

I have the same problem with my door panels (crappy on the
bottom) what
I was planning on doing;
Paint the panels with SEM vinyl paint, find a contrasting color
vinyl
fabric for the bottom and hide the seam between the old vinyl and
the
new vinyl with flexchrome molding.
I'll take pics when I'm done

I HAVE been mulling that one over in my head. Thanks

If you don't mind non-original, you can take what you have to a
good car
upholstery shop and they can figure out what to do with the
bottom. For
example, put in a carpet-like piece like used in the '63 Polara
500 or a
matching piece of vinyl with a stitch or molding border. 2c

Sorry for the OT post, but I need a good set of front door
panels for a
68 Sport Fury. I'd prefer metallic red, but can dye them if
necessary. I
can't find them new anywhere and my old ones are ate up along the
bottom. Legenday and YearOne don't carry them. They have the seat
covers, but no door panels...anybody have any ideas? Thanks
