Re: Oil Pan

I bought an oil pan new from an e-pay store. It was supposed to fit the B body big blocks. Mine is a 1964 Dodge 440 that I am putting a 413 into. . It seems to be well constructed and fit the engine ( altho I haven't got the oil pick-up yet.) It clears all the steering linkage even when turning lock to lock The problem I did have was right front lower corner of the sump. I had to notch the bottom flange of the K member where it interfered. No problem.. If the sump was toward the back about an inch I wouldn't have had to do that.....................MO...........sw iowa ----- Original Message ----- From: "Bob Kinker" <maxwedge11@xxxxxxxxx>

Try this site http://www.autohobbydigest.com/pans.html The 402 pan fits later B bodies, like GTX Charger etc.

Hi I have a question about oil pans.

I know that the oil pans that fit the 62-65 B bodies are very shallow
and center sump.

I have a pan off a 383 that I hope to use in my wife's 64 Polara 500
convert. It has the numbers 402 stamped on it.

Will that work? I also know that there was a message or web site that
showed the dimensions of what will work but I cannot seem to find it
again.

Can someone help?

Thanks.

K.
