Mike, you are spoiled in NM.... I've restored several, but never a car that was was even close to this... "un-rusty" !

Well I guess you are right. It's just my idea of an original includes having the original drive train, radiator, equipment, etc. This is just a rusty shell, and if you replace all the missing stuff (about 80% of the car) it would seem to classify as a clone at that point without the original engine, tranny, etc. But it's alway good news for a Mopar in this kind of condition to get such big bids.Mike in New MexicoTo: 1962to1965mopars@xxxxxxxxxx From: wakey@xxxxxxxxxxx Subject: Re: Economy must be OK Date: Wed, 4 Mar 2009 09:51:35 -0700 Buying the history of the car is part of it, but the car itself is unbelieveably rare -It's an original, factory aluminum-nose hardtop. Look at the mileage - 1/4mile at a time. To find an original, factory racecar that hasn't beenmodified to death or cut to hell over the last 46 years is almost unheard oftoday. Hell, these cars were hen's teeth the day they rolled off the assembly line.Of course, I can't afford the bumper brackets from this car. But if you got it for the current bid price, it would be a STEAL, even in todays market. Iwouldn't be surprised to see it hit 50, 60, $70,000 or more. And way more than that two years ago...
