RE: Police Special Equpment

Thanks, that's exactly what I remember too. I got caught by one for speeding (130 mph in a 70 mph zone) in my '64 Dodge Polara 500 383 2 bbl. He caught up to me really fast so I knew it was not a normal car. Yes, the 2 doors and buckets were just strange, the New Mexico State Police (that's what they are called) had them but most all city and county cop cars were 4 door models. In full dress colors they were black and white, with a big neat badge type decal that covered the whole door. I am looking into the state records on this, but thanks this gives me great info.

It was a white 2 door Dodge 330 with a 383 four bbl with solid lifters and grey bucket seats. I'm sure it had suspension, cooling, and electrical upgrades too but the things I remember most are the 2 doors(I had never seen a cop car with two doors at that time.), bucket seats, and solid lifters.

I was thinking about starting a clone project to reproduce one, since I know the originals are probably all wrecked or have 1,000,000 miles. I am wondering what model (330-440) they used for police cars and what equipment they had added over stock, like engines, wheels, tranny, etc. Anyone know where the specs for these might be? Thanks.
