hi, am in the process of replacing the front half of a twin exhaust. previously had very rusty extractors that didnt fit & forced engine up on funny angle. previous owner boddgeid it up to sell. putting original type manifold back on & building new pipes backwards till hit good pipe again.anyhow finished r/h side & started car to check for leaks. engine ran smooth but started to backfire. does this mean i have a leak on the exhaust? any way to determine where axactly the leak is? my welds all look good to the eye so should i wrap a rag round each join to determine if it is at fault? [when pipes are cold] do i need to reset the timing? thanks, richard [oz]
