All to often it is the obvious that is overlooked In a message dated 12/26/2008 2:03:59 P.M. Central Standard Time, pjlenn@xxxxxxxxx writes: Got my car reassembled after changing the oil pan. Wanted to check out my "new" junk yard starter, hopped in and hit the key, nothing. What the.............??? Got out the test light clipped it to the battery (-) and I had power everywhere I should all the way to the firewall, what the..........?? My son, who was home for Christmas was taking it home with him for the body guy to start on it. So if it wasn't going to start we were going to have to use my crappy come-along to winch it on to the trailer. So when he came out and started looking at it he said "would it work better if you bolted the other end of the negative cable to the block?" Good grief! Shows the value of a second set of eyes. Hooked it up and it fired right off. So the car is on the trailer and on it's way to winter quarters. Paul L.
