Re: lifters and 440 flywheel pattern

Don,

That's great! Thanks!

That's why I love this forum...ask and ye shall receive!!! You guys
are an amazing wealth of info!!!

I will send them and email tonight & call them on Friday.

I also talked to Elgin cams today and the guy there (didn't get his
name) said he would hardness test, regrind, polish, and retreat my
lifters for ~$6/ea. I also emailed Oregon Cam Grinding and he said he
would redo mine for $4/each.

Unless VTI is way more than Elgin or Oregon cam, I'll probably use
them. Sounds like oddball stuff is their business!

Thanks again Don!!! Once again you are a wealth of info!!!

Harry said he uses them almost monthly as he does a lot of antique industrial and marne work. He said he would be shocked if they didnt have them (.008s) in stock but if not they would redo yours and do whatever is necessary to get you want you want. He stressed several times they are NOT expensive. Said he has never stumped them yet. For example last sets he got redone were a mushroom tappet set for a 292 Ford and a set of hydraulics for a 50s cadillac. Said they were indistnguishable from new. They will hard chrome them up to size if required as well.
