I'm trying to find out if a 64 Savoy came from the factory with the high compression maxie engine and a steel front end (instead of aluminum). I looked in my Darrell Davis book and it states that high compression maxies only came with aluminum front ends. Do I consider this 'gospel' or are there variances from this author's opinion? Do any of you from the list have any real world remembrances of these combinations? I am looking for an example of a high compression 64 post car with a steel front end delivered, purchased or raced. I am building a nostalgia purestock drag car with very strict rules and I need some help to document the combination I want to run. Any help is appreciated, Scott from Louisiana **************New MapQuest Local shows what's happening at your destination. Dining, Movies, Events, News & more. Try it out!
