Re: Engine test stand kind-of

Mike,

How does your kit compare to Painless, Road 1, and the plethora of other mfgrs. out there?

Thank you,

Bill,
On my last build, I bought a wiring harness from a local parts supplier for $160 plus tax, which came with all instructions/diagrams/etc. . I intend to do the same for my '65 SF & my '56 Coronet. The kit was made by WWW.KEEPITCLEANWIRING.COM everything is marked & I actually started to think that I was an electrician. So far, two years+ and no complaints. For the high powered cars, however, I'd recommend heavier wires in some areas. I'm sure that there'll be a few dozen members who'll have more knowledge than me on this topic, though. Interesting time for you. Disassembly is over & every move you make shows real progress, now.
Good luck,
Mike

Folks,
Getting my car painted and when it gets back, I want to
assemble the engine
and get it into the vehicle so I can get it running and
broken in, rather
than leave it un- assembled and give rust a chance to set
in, until the car
is back together with wiring, interior etc., or assemble it
and leave it on
the engine stand while I get the wiring harnesses, dash
etc. installed.
Once the engine is assembled I can install it in the car
while the fenders
and such are off. I will need to install the radiator so
it can cool, hook
up a fuel source to get pumped to the carb by the fuel
pump, but my question
is related to what wiring do I need, and how do I wire it?
Building a 440,
with Mopar Electronic Ignition. Obviously I'll need
the battery hooked up,
but not sure how that would be done and what other
components would need to
be hooked up. Would I just use the engine harness, hook
that up as normally
would and then rig wiring from the ignition switch? Anyone
done this
before, and maybe have a wiring diagram of how to hook
everything up?
Appreciate any help.
Thanks,
Bill Brandt
