The block of a Poly V8 is almost identical to an LA block. So close you
need to know what you're looking for to tell them apart.

Yes, they are a 90 degree V8, as are virtually all production V8s in the
world. The thing that makes things hard is the continual reference to the
term 'wide block'. They don't have a wide block, as I've just described.

Because the valves are inclined differently, and the pushrods come up
differently into the head, the valve covers are further apart. That is all.
