Re: rev limiters?

I have an old tach here from the 60's that has a mechanical accessory rev limiter that cuts out the spark completely like you said but the Mallory tachs had a "proportional" rev limiter and also just minimized spark output. These worked great and were very reasonably priced (much less than an MSD unit and a separate tach) It's unfortunate that somebody bought out Mallory (I think it was Mr. Gasket) and discontinued these Mallory tachs.

Hi,

So there is a version of this unit that will run with my Mopar box?

MSD soft touch rev limiters are the way to go. If you don't want to upgrade the ignition system to MSD (high recommended though) then the rev limiter alone is approx $175 and minimizes spark output so your engine doesn't load with fuel, just kinda falls flat with reduced power. This to me is the best sort of the system instead of those like the Mallory that actually cut out spark completely which loaded up the cylinders at high RPM. This has been my
experience.
