Old gas disposal?

I'm pulling my gas tank suspecting my sending unit is gooped up.  I
have at least several gallons in it.  Any suggestions on how to
dispose of the gas?  I'm assuming it's bad.

I was going to try to use a kit to seal it, but I saw suggestions
going back a ways that taking it to a radiator shop to have it boiled
and sealed and install a drain plug is probably the best and easiest
way.  I think I'll go that route.
