Here it is at Cayuga about 1969 running iff against a shoebox pontiac in the same class. http://www3.sympatico.ca/big-d/STUFF.htm Vern driving (I am no good a driver) . We didnt have to have helments in these classes then. In fact some of the guys were here talking about this new arm drop drag racing this week and i mentioned to them I was old enough to have raced at sanctioned Drag strips BEFORE!!!!!! Christmas Trees were invented. Last one was Cedars Dragstip near St Eutasche Quebec with flags. always used to love the top eliminator race at the end of the day. Often something like a 51 hudson running a injected Small block rail for the final. The flagman would be so far away you almost needed binoculars to see him. I remember one where the ol Hison had to run les than 100feeet. (i want to say 75 but it seems too small) and the dragster ran the whole 1/4. And the dragster won! Also had a fellow racing that day wth a 413 in a chevy II. Now there is a major improvement! I'll shut up and go for a ride in my 63 now so i can remember why I love our mopars so. Don Trans, They used a FMX trans in most cars which is sort of a cast iron ford auto. We used to have to each overhaul at least one about once a month. Some of the later Hi perf had an all aluminum Ford tans C4 then they finaly got smart and switched completely to torqflights.
