I restored my steeting wheel off my 64 Sport Fury myself. The wheel had major cracks at the hub and a lot of cracks in several places around the wheel as well as where the chrome rings go, the wheel had shrunk up to about twice the size it should be for the rings to fit. I took a pointed burr and tapered all the cracks out, took off the rings, thinking there is no way I could duplicate the area where they should be. I bought several tubes of JB Weld and after several applications to fill all the cracks and where the rings went, I sanded them down using my dremel with the round sanding disk on it. Ended up taking it up to my brother who has a body shop and he finished it by using body filler. He painted it for me also and even though it doesn't have the chrome rings anymore, it looks damn good. If I had thought of it I would have taken pictures of my process as I went along but I didn't. All in all, I'm happy with the wheel. I even got the horn parts from Joe Suchey who advertises on this site. I'll be installing it shortly along with a new steering box and shaft. Bill C.
