Hey all, I just picked up a 63 New Yorker Saturday I bought on Ebay.
It's been sitting in the owner's garage since 79 and is in amazing
condition. It doesn't run but spins over with the starter fine. My
question is about the color...it's kinda maroon, but not dark. It's not
red, and at first I thought it was the original paint, but not I'm not
sure. The paint is excellent and it has no scratches I've seen. I HAVE
found a couple touched up areas, but the color match is perfect(hard to
imagine). Do you guys think this could be the original paint or a
repaint? If it's a repaint, then the car was stripped due to there being
NO overspray anywhere, even on the door handle gaskets. The chrome is
also excellent. The color chips I found show regular red as the only
shade available.
