what is the wire configuration with a single speed wiper motor? I have 4 connections on my wiper switch two are by themselves and the other two are on the same piece of metal with 2 clips.then there is the reverse switch I have the wiring from the backup lights plugged into the closest plug to the door and the jumper coming off the other clip to the wiper switch.I have something wrong because when i turn my key on the reverse lights come on. The back up lights come on when the reverse button is pushed and has nothing to do with the tranny. I appreciate this fact in that I can flash my back up lights (as a friendly good bye or whatever) by pushing the reverse button partially. The lights come on and the gears don't change. This can be proven. Put the key in "on or Acc" (you do not have to start the car) and press the reverse button. If you can watch the back up lights (the garage door closed) the lights will come on almost as soon as you touch the button. When my hearing was better, I could hear the click of the switch as the reverse button was gently pressed. The console shift automatics have the back up light switch in the console and is activated by the position of the gear shift lever and is not directly connected to the tranny as in later years either.
