Project proceding- Carb mods

Rich Kinsley '64 Dodge Polara 4dr 318poly w/goodies

OK- tonight I was looking at my 500cfm Eddy's and I decided the choke
plate should be removed on my dual-quads. Shaft and all. I do not use
the choke and I can see they interfere with airflow probably. I will
squirt a tad of RTV in the shaft openings after I remove them. It can be
cleaned out later if I want to replace them. Does anyone have any
problem with this?

Also I have a template of sorts from Edelbrock that shows me how to
drill the vacuum advance weights to get them opening sooner and fuller.
I will do this also.

I want to block the middle passage heat crossover too in the manifold.
(This is a 318 poly +.040".) How do I do this in the most unobtrusive
way? In case I want to reverse this in the future. I could JB weld the
manifold but that's a pretty rare piece of metal to modify permanently
like that. Is there a gasket that has the passage blocked AND is
available? (Don't say E-Bay. I don't do that.) Feel free to chime in
Gary P.

I will be getting on the wood riser pretty soon and I'm having
difficulty finding the coating. I can only get garage floor paint in
2gal sizes. The paint stores are advising me that they don't know how
well it will adhere to wood either. I don't want something brittle that
will break off in the venturi and send little pieces of paint into the
engine. That worries me. Maybe Eastwood has a product that would work?

OK- Send me some ideas, comments.
