Hi Doug -I know there are others on this list who know much more than I do about such matters, but it's my understanding that there's no such thing as a "numbers matching" car that old. I seem to remember that numbers were matched later in the '60s. I have an almost original '63 that I'm sure hasn't had any major components so I can check my belief if I know what numbers should match. But I don't think Ma Mopar made any attempt to match anything.

Date: Mon, 31 Mar 2008 12:42:42 -0700 what numbers do I need from a '64 engine to confirm it is numbers matching? Here is what I got: The # under the distributor on the pad is V 38, under that is 1025. The number under the head on the passenger side motor block is 2128854, under that is "LL". Isn't the block date stamped too? transmission too?All dates on engine/transmission should pre-date the date on fender tag, correct? Thanks, Doug _________________________________________________________________ Windows Live Hotmail is giving away Zunes. http://www.windowslive-hotmail.com/ZuneADay/?locale=en-US&ocid=TXT_TAGLM_Mobile_Zune_V3 -- [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] ----Please address private mail -- mail of interest to only one person -- directly to that person.
