Thanks for your reply Steve! So can I just remove it
and not use it? It's there, but I'd rather not use it
if it won't hurt anything. I'm running nitrous and a
different carb so I'm not doing a concourse

Chrysler installed air pumps on some of their
engines for emission control
issues. Basically the air pump is used to inject air
into the combustion
chamber to help the combustion burn process and thus
lower emissions, it
also helps cool the combustion chamber so that a
leaner (better mileage) air
/fuel mixture could be used. There were  a lot of
them removed back then and
it's hard to find the right stuff when restoring a
car back to original.
