Re: Ebay Maxie car-Not in DD's book

The serial # for this 63 has a wrong entry for the serial #. The 7 is not in any model that I see. Second, the second to last digit is the only number close to another car in the sequence serial numbers. This could be on purpose by the seller. Who knows. joe machado

Subject: Ebay Maxie car-

First off,63 had the highest number of Maxies built-so it's not a 1 of
10 as might previously been thought.Galens low production numbers just
aren't valid anymore.This car is in D.D.'s book,or it isn't.Simple.

Second, even though the fender tag is missing, the 2 body numbers can be
used to verify the SO,which then can be used(through contact with DD)to
verify this car.

IMO,$25K is ALL the money for this one.The trans, shifter and bellhousing
are gone.That's a $5K package to try to replace.And those T-85's aren't
just laying around. If the engine hasn't been rotated in 30 years, chances
are the pistons are stuck and it's going to need 8 sleeves to save the
block.

Someone will have to be just as emotional(read: crazy) about buying this
car as the seller is in pricing it.Esp. if the $75K reserve is accurate.
