This was the era when seat belts were an option depending on what state you were in. My 63 Fury came from Oregon so it never had front seat belts. If it had been sold in NY it would have been a mandatory option. The anchors however were in the floor with rubber plugs in them. I'm not sure what year it started (I think maybe 61) but federal law required that the anchors be installed (at least the front ones not sure about the rear) at the factory. I'm not sure if the winders were a factory or a dealer installed option during this time. They were certainly available in the aftermarket and there's a number of seat belt vendors that still sell them.
Yep, that was the good days all right. Today it's "Oh you want that option? That's part of a package with about 15 other things you didn't want. And you'll have to order the Z model instead of the S model or you can't get that package. Btw what color interior do you want? The light gray or the dark gray? Or if your real lucky we might have a tan. You want an interior that matches the exterior color? You're kidding right? Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha, That's a good one"

Is this another example of Mother Mopar's unpredictability?Maybe more of how they were ordered, the good ole days when you could get what you wanted. I'm going to look into getting a set. I think they'd be nice to have and a useful accessory. I use my seatbelts, not because the lawman says I have to (hell no), but because I'm sitting on a vinyl bench seat.Tom
