I've got a 1978 440 with factory 8:1 slugs. I had .025" milled off the heads to make up for the thicker Fel-Pro gasket, and Jim at Racer Brown ground my cam 5 degrees advanced. All eight cylinders are almost exactly 155 psi on a quality, MAC TOOLS compression tester, with all spark plugs removed, throttle wide open, and engine warmed up.
