Butch This sock as they call it, should pull off. It is a press fit. Layson's sells them for $12.oo. I have two 65 Barracud's and I left them off. I installed in-line filters, just before the pump and remove the filter between the pump and carb. Removing the upper filter will prevent fuel spill over in the hot weather. This is an old trick that was done at mopar dealers in the 70's. Good Luck...Don harry skalla <moweepea@xxxxxxxxxxx> wrote: Butch ----- Original Message ----- From: "harry skalla" To: <1962to1965mopars@xxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Tuesday, December 04, 2007 3:07 PM Subject: tank filter > Clear DayHello all, I'm replacing my fuel tank on my 64 dodge 440, and > the sending unit is in good shape but there is a little filter at the end > of the fuel line, that is in the tank, looks like it is one piece, and > will not come off the fuel line.
