You are absolutely right. I think the heat shield would help me greatly
BUT I think the routing of the fuel line which takes it within 1" or
less of the headers is a real concern. I am really leaning towards
changing over to an electric pump near the tank and bringing the fuel
line up the rear of the engine to avoid the headers. I don't think you
can reroute the line up high and then back down to the mechanical pump
to avoid the headers. Can the mechanical Holley high performance 80gph
pump suck it uphill like that?
