Bill,When you are standing in front of the engine looking at the timing case cover, are you saying the numbers and letter on the driver side face of the block below the driver side head (not left and right sides of the block where the core plugs are) is ground off? These numbers and letter are stamped into the block with metal punches. Sure, send me the picture. I may have a 1965 date coded Poly block if that is important to you.

OK...here's what I have. I'm gonna put up some numbers of the spare motor I have too... Motor 1 (in my Coronet): Dr Side block: NOTHING! Some f'ing a$$%@!# actually ground the numbers off (I can the grind marks). If anyone wants to see the pic, I'll send it along. Pass side block: 2468230 cast in w/ the CPDD logo below the number. Motor 2 (spare) Dr Side block: "B 318 - 2 5 - 6" w/ the 2 being twisted ~45 degrees clockwise and slightly below the 5. Pass side block: 2532630 w/ the CPDD logo above the number. So can anyone decode what I have? Thanks in advance. signed - pi$$ed Bill M 65 Coronet 500 'vert
