Question to the team: Does anyone know if the rear spring shackle travels (pivots front-to-rear) during driving / racing / launch conditions? The top of the rear spring shackle attaches to the frame rail, and the bottom attaches to the spring. As installed, the shackle is rigid, almost straight up and down. So my question is, during driving conditions (spring compressed and decompressed), does a) the bottom of the shackle travel front-to-rear, pivoting on the frame, or does b) the shackle stay in place, with the spring eye pivoting on the rear shackle? This might seem like a stupid question, but I am locating the fuel filter and fuel pump on the rear frame rail, rear of the spring shackle, and clearly I wouldn't want the bottom of the spring shackle to travel rearward on lunch, contacting the fuel system. I could guess at an amount of travel, but I thought I would ping the group for "real" data... Thanks in advance for your thoughts / experience.
