Re: eBay stuff,, Max wedge car from VIN?

hi robert,

i missed that piece.
so if the fender tag is missing and the vin (4th digit) is a 1 or 2 thats a step in the right direction, but nothing else (digit-wise) shows its a max motored car.

thanks

See Bill watson's recent messsage 'Re: Max wedge VIN info' - it explains
the 4th digit.
The '1' just means it was made at Lynch Road, where the Maxies were
made. It doesnt tell you what engine it was made with though.
You should be able to pin down the original engine size from the fender tag (if present); this conversation started because the car in question
only had the VIN and no fender tag.
Hope that helps?!

hi All,

Ive been folowing with curiousity the chats about vins for max wedge
motored cars.
the 4th digit on this vin is a "1" but they call it out as an
original 383 car.

so does the 4th digit being a 1 not only mean max wedge motor but big
block?

thanks
