Hi Paul and Cathie et al, What is even better than a 12 V lamp is to go down to your local Harbor freight store ( or to their Website ) and purchase their $5 to under $10 Digital Multi-Meter that measures Voltage, Current and Resistance. Now you are probably saying, "Yeah. well what do I know about electricity and Ohm's Law? " For those who would lik eto know more than just seing if a bulb lights or not and maybe save themselves a trip to the Auto Electric guy, there is a nifty and VERY Basic and FREE on-line course that will teach you had to use that nifty 5 buck Volt/Current/Ohm ( resistance) meter Just go to http://www.autoshop101.com/ Click on the left column subject - "Online Instruction" then Click on the 10 subjects in the upper middle column Electrical Fundamentals Electrical Circuits Control Devices Circuit Protection Variable Resistors Understanding Relays Battery Basics Battery Services Understanding Alternators Understanding Logic Gates If you made it thru 8th grade, you can understand this, and if you didn't get your 8 year to help you thru it. ;-) Good Luck and happy troubleshooting Dennis V San Diego 65 Valiant 100 Paul Lennemann wrote:

They're inexpensive and will save you hours and hours of head scratching. On our old cars with their corroded connectors etc. it may be the best tool you can buy.Paul L.
