RE: short fiber grease

Hi Robert,

I don't know exactly about Sta-Lube, but back in the day we used to get
some hard core grease for our press-type wheel bearing repacker, and a
common mistake was to not sufficiently pre-load the hub retaining nut.
Once the wheel is on and rolling under stress, friction will heat that
grease and loosen it up, dispersing it into the bearing. If the nut is
not pre-loaded appropriately, it will become too loose.

Try spinning the hub on the spindle while tightening the nut. Tighten
and loosen a few times and you'll find that the grease will evenly
distribute and the bearing will eventually seat nicely in the race.

Where did you find Sta-Lube, anyway? I was looking for it last year ...
I believe it is referenced in the original service manual.
