Did i post these pics before? http://www.moparuk.co.uk/showgalleries/LMM/index.html Back in April we went with a few mates to a recently opened 'museum' on the outskirts of London, run by a friend of a friend (see above link). Well, this friend (not the museum owner) happens to be the guy that built our 426, and he also runs a 440 powered Tr*ns Am in the Super Comp (I think) class throughout our racing season. Paul (our friend) approached the museum owner and suggested he organise a Drag Racing Exhibition for this coming weekend July 7th & 8th. The idea was mainly to bring drag racing to the public - to people who otherwise wouln't get to know much about it. Dont forget it's still very much 'grass roots' over here, with just a handful of pro-drivers and little or no TV coverage. Paul rang me this morning (Friday) and asked if my brother & would like to / be able to bring our 63 to the museum to be on show for the weekend! Despite other committments, we'll be taking the car down there Saturday morning, ready for the start of the show. And take it away Sunday at 6pm. The idea is to have a few cars with a 'how it all started' type of theme (musclecars I presume - not early hot rods!). Bit embarassing really as we havent yet had the car on the strip; in fact I'm not sure the last time it saw any 1/4 mile action, probably not within the last 10 years. Oh well, at least it looks the part! I'll post some pics later this weekend.
