Yup, everything works. I just haven't noticed it doing this before. Before I got the alt rebuilt the gauge would stay centered most of the time, and the horn absolutely did not make the ammeter jump up like that. Sounds about right. Don't forget you've got a horn relay on the firewall. The dip down is the current to engage the relay, the spike is the current the horns are drawing, which does not go through the ammeter, giving the false impression of a current surge.
