Maybe it can be drilled, pins inserted and the thing welded...on a certified great welder of cast iron should even be approached for this task.(IMHO) I'd load it up and go see the engine/builder machinist for opinions... I retired my 426 rb block for this reason...I believe the 440 blocks are the same...go check www.440source.com he'll know...read his articles on blocks.
