BillM. I have been there done that a few times in myearly years with 64 Plymouths and Dodges . finally when i got to this car i said "i am not going through this again "and i plugged the water pump connections and got some rubber caps for the heater pipes. With my old cars sometimes without warning when i would occasionally stay in it too hard it would open up a heater core. i used new ones and still had a problem now and then. With this car 63 426 max wedge I dont use the heater and I dont drive when it is cold anyway. I am not giving it the chance to wash my feet with green antifreeze. I have over 30000 miles on it since restoration and have never missed the heater yet. Motor doesnt miss it either.
