still need transmission help

If you can help me please do...I'd like to put his
thing back together today before I forget where the
dern parts go !!!

How do you remove the actuating arm on the L/R band
(the big one with cast iron arm) so that the piston
can be removed to replace the spring? (Transgo Kit). I
don't want to bang and bugger up parts, but it doesn't
want to come down...does the pin have to be removed ?
If so , how to do this with trans. in car?

I need some guidance here fellows....
