1) the 8 3/4 will be fine unless you have a blower on that 413 and pushing 8-900 hp, you didn't mention ;-). Others mentioned 489, 742 and 741 chunks and the 741 is the weekest, but the 8 3/4 can be reinforced and become a darn near Dana 60 Strong. 2 - 3) I went both routes here. Front End Rebuild kit from Performance Suspension Components and junk yard scrounge for the 73-76 A body spindles and followed the information from the Rick Ehrenberg's tech. On the front end I cleaned all the parts and painted myself (Control Arms, tie rods, spindles, etc...), but had to take certain things into a brake shop to get bushings pressed in or the what not, but it only cost me a 12 pac. I have yet to tackle the rear end, so I have no info for springs... Good luck and let us know what you ended up doing.
