Re: 63 wagon

Both 8 and 9 inch Ford rear ends have the carrier in a seperate housing just like an 8.75 Chrysler. The later 8.8 and 7.5 Ford differentials are like the Dana with a one piece housing and an access cover to remove the carrier. The differential in the wagon is a 8.75 Chrysler. Look at the pinion snubber and the profile of the bottom of the carrier housing. Ford carrier housings aren't that long, generally don't have pinion snubbers, and don't look like that when they do.

It sure looks like an 8 3/4 rear end to me, though they really do not
have a good picture of it. I always thought that the 9" ford was like
the Dana, it had a back plate to take off, with out remove the axles?
That is one sweet ride, let see, cash in some stocks, trade some
bonds, to hell with retirement....... Oh well, you only live once,
wonder what the reserve is on it????
Wishful thinking...... lol

Hadnt noticed before that a 63 Dodge wagon was called a Coronet!

Sorely tempted by this one:

Hope the link works.

Anyone know the car? or the vendor?

It says it has a 9" rear end - can anyone out there tell from the
pics whether
that is a Ford 9"?

Wonder what his reserve is - he says it's high, but bids are
staying quite low....
